Richard Owiredu Wadie

The CEO/Chairperson


Richard Owiredu Wadie, also known as Nana Owiredu Wadie I, is the founder/chairperson of Kabaka Foundation. His visionary leadership drives the Foundation’s mission to empower communities and transform lives. He is driven by the love of God, which fuels his commitment to helping the underprivileged, with a special interest in children and women. He hopes to brighten the lives he encounters. He is an astute businessman with over 20 years of experience in investment, the supply of general goods and merchandise, and construction. He is married with three children. In addition to his business ventures, Richard Owiredu Wadie was enstooled as the Nkosuohene (Development Chief) of Kwahu-Nkwatia in the Eastern Region of Ghana. This role underscores his dedication to leading developmental transformation in Ghana. He also serves as the Board Chairman of VPL Concrete Ltd., bringing his rich experience in construction and an extensive network in the procurement and built environment industry to the company.

Karen Walmsley

Board Member


Karen Walmsley is an accomplished entrepreneur with over 12 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry. As the founder and CEO of a successful travel and tourism company, Karen has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a keen understanding of business development. Her work emphasizes sustainable tourism and creating meaningful experiences that connect people to diverse cultures. As a board member of the Kabaka Foundation, Karen leverages her business acumen to provide strategic insights into operational efficiency and community engagement. Her entrepreneurial spirit helps the foundation explore innovative solutions to support its mission. Karen is passionate about fostering opportunities for underprivileged communities, combining her expertise in tourism with her commitment to social impact. She believes in building bridges between cultures and empowering individuals through sustainable economic initiatives.

Henry Kwaku Nyanteh Larbi

The Executive Secretary/ Board Secretary


Henry Kwaku Nyanteh Larbi brings exceptional organizational expertise to his role as Executive Secretary/ Board Secretary. He oversees the foundation's day-to-day operations, ensures alignment with strategic goals, and manages key partnerships to foster sustainable development. Henry is also a dedicated advocate for sports development and inclusion in Ghana. He is passionate about empowering marginalized communities through Kabaka Foundation initiatives. Additionally, Henry holds significant roles in the sports sector, including serving as Ghana's Chef de Mission for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and being appointed to the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Wheelchair Tennis Committee, marking him as the first Ghanaian to serve on this committee. He aims to bring relief and empowerment to the less privileged in society.

Janet Gloria Williston

Social Development Specialist/ Team Lead


With expertise in social innovation and community engagement, Janet Gloria Williston designs and implements impactful programs that address the needs of marginalized communities, and social intersectionalities. She is a passionate advocate for disability rights, and social inclusion. She has a decade of experience in public relations, social development and fundraising, she has served as a Fundraising Officer at the Orthopedic Training Centre (OTC) in Nsawam, Ghana. As a Chevening Scholar, Gloria has been recognized for her resilience and dedication to challenging societal perceptions of disability. Her leadership inspires the team to innovate and achieve excellence in addressing social challenges. Driven by her personal experience as a disabled person, and a passion for equity and inclusion, Gloria believes in empowering individuals and communities to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential. Her work reflects a deep commitment to creating lasting change through collaborative and compassionate approaches.

Samuel Opoku Kusi

Samuel oversees logistical and operational efficiency, supporting the foundation’s programs and initiatives to achieve our goals effectively. Samuel Opoku is a seasoned professional with experience in administrative management and organizational operations. With a strong background in coordinating teams, streamlining processes, and ensuring operational efficiency, Samuel plays a pivotal role in the daily functioning of the Kabaka Foundation. Samuel is deeply committed to community development and believes in the transformative power of organized efforts to uplift the underprivileged. His dedication drives his work to create sustainable solutions that positively impact lives.
