On October 4th, 2021, Kabaka Foundation Ghana achieved another milestone in its mission to enhance healthcare delivery across the country. The foundation donated 20 hospital beds to the Eastern Regional Hospital, increasing its capacity from 30 to 50 beds. This significant contribution is part of Kabaka Foundation’s ongoing commitment to improving health outcomes for underserved communities, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being.
The Eastern Regional Hospital, located in Koforidua, serves as a critical healthcare facility for thousands of residents in the region. However, the hospital has faced challenges with overcrowding and limited resources, often struggling to accommodate the growing number of patients requiring care. The addition of 20 beds is a transformative step towards addressing these challenges, enabling the hospital to enhance its service delivery and meet the needs of more patients efficiently.
During the handover ceremony, the CEO of Kabaka Foundation expressed gratitude to the hospital staff for their dedication and resilience in providing care under challenging conditions. He emphasized the foundation’s unwavering commitment to supporting healthcare facilities with the tools and resources necessary to save lives and improve community well-being.
“This donation is not just about beds—it’s about giving hope. It’s about ensuring that every patient who walks through these doors receives the care and dignity they deserve,” he said.
The event brought together local dignitaries, hospital staff, media personnel, and representatives from Kabaka Foundation Ghana. The Chief Medical Officer of the Eastern Regional Hospital expressed heartfelt appreciation for the donation, highlighting its immediate impact on patient care.
“Before this donation, we were often forced to turn patients away or place them in less-than-ideal conditions due to the lack of beds. With these 20 new beds, we can now provide more people with the care they need. This is a game-changer for us,” he remarked.
The hospital beds, designed for patient comfort and safety, were accompanied by bedside lockers and other essential accessories to ensure a complete solution for the hospital’s needs. The donation will directly benefit patients, particularly those in critical care and maternity wards, where the demand for beds is particularly high.
This initiative underscores Kabaka Foundation’s dedication to improving healthcare infrastructure as part of its broader mission to radiate the love of God through acts of kindness and service. By focusing on critical areas such as health, education, and community infrastructure, the foundation continues to bring hope and transformation to communities across Ghana.
