In a small community in Asikasu, young children once studied under makeshift shelters, braving harsh weather conditions. In September 2024, Kabaka Foundation handed over the Nana Owiredu 1 Kindergarten Block to Asikasu Presbyterian Basic School, transforming the landscape of early education. The facility, equipped with modern classrooms, colorful furniture, and learning materials, now provides a nurturing environment for over 100 children. Parents and teachers expressed their gratitude, with one parent saying:
“This is more than a building—it’s a future for our children.”
When the Daasebre Kwaku Boateng Mother and Baby Unit was inaugurated at the Eastern Regional Hospital in September 2023, it marked a turning point in maternal and neonatal care. This state-of-the-art NICU has since served over 1,000 mothers and babies, reducing neonatal mortality in the region. One young mother, Adwoa, shared her story:
“I was scared when my baby was born prematurely. Thanks to the new NICU, my child received the best care and is now thriving.”
In partnership with the National Paralympic Committee Ghana, Kabaka Foundation distributed 100 wheelchairs donated from Japan to individuals with disabilities across Ghana. For Kofi, a 25-year-old teacher, this wheelchair was life-changing:
“I can now commute to work comfortably and regain my independence. Kabaka Foundation has given me dignity and hope.”
On May 28th, 2024, World Menstrual Hygiene Day, Kabaka Foundation provided sanitary pads and hygiene education to 800 adolescent girls in Accra. Many of these young girls had missed school due to a lack of menstrual products. One student, Ida, shared:
“Now I can focus on my studies without worrying about my personal hygiene. Thank you for the donation.”
Kabaka Foundation’s donation of musical instruments and Christmas supplies to Okwahu United FC supporters in December 2024 brought joy and unity to the football community. The festive spirit was palpable, with fans expressing pride and gratitude:
“This support brings us together as one family. It’s more than a donation—it’s a celebration of community.”
